Imagine someone hoping his car won’t break down to avoid encountering a zombie like in a Hollywood movie… Yet that’s exactly what happened on July 25, 2026, to a Palestinian man driving on the Ma’arajat road, which connects Jericho to Ramallah in the West Bank. His car broke down, and settlers, who often lie in wait for motorists, attacked him, beating him and stabbing him in the back.

The presence of settlers on the roads is a daily occurrence. They throw stones at cars, block roads, and assault motorists whose vehicles break down. On July 25, 2026, eleven similar incidents were recorded on the roads of Jerusalem, Ramallah, Qalqilya, Nablus, Salfit, Jericho, and Bethlehem in the West Bank.
