The installation of gates has become a new tactic employed by settlers to prevent Palestinians from accessing their land, thus paving the way for its confiscation. In the past two days, Israeli settlers erected two iron gates: one west of the town of Beit Anan, preventing farmers from accessing their fields, and the other west of Jericho. Over the past two weeks, settlers have also installed three other iron gates near the Old City Youth Association in Jerusalem, in the town of al-Dhahiriya in Hebron, and in the village of al-Maniya in Bethlehem.
