Does raising a flag over a property automatically make someone its owner? Yes, this is what settlers do under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces. Recently, settlers raised the Israeli flag over a house in the town of Beita, near Nablus, from which they had previously displaced its owners, in an attempt to seize it. Others erected a tent near a commercial establishment in the town of Taybeh, near Ramallah, with the aim of closing it down and seizing the land. Still other settlers erected a tent near a Palestinian home in the village of Beit Ummar, near Nablus, for the same purpose.
