The Israeli occupation forces are using archaeological sites as a pretext to carry out more confiscations of West Bank lands. After confiscating the archaeological site of Tel Ma’in in Masafer Yatta, Hebron, last week to establish a military watchtower, on February 18, 2026, they confiscated the archaeological site and its surroundings in Sebastia, which covers an area of about 20,000 square meters, in addition to confiscating two other lands in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, as well as demolishing 10 houses in a single day.
