In the period from 13 to 19 February 2024 covered by the OIC Observatory on Israel’s Crimes against Palestinians, 753 persons were killed in the Gaza Strip, 2 in the West Bank, while 1069 were injured. Most of the martyrs in the Gaza Strip died from the bombardment of various parts of the Strip by the Israeli occupation forces. This includes Rafah which has been described by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as “the world’s most densely populated area,” holding 1.5 million people, almost half of the population of the Gaza Strip. UNICEF called for the protection of civilians in Rafah amid Israel’s unrelenting bombardment of civilians and threats to continue its military aggression during the month of Ramadan, heightening the chances to commit unprecedented massacre and worsen the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.
The Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younes, south of the Gaza Strip, witnessed numerous atrocities, having been completely taken over by the occupation forces after many days of blockade. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Strip last Friday announced the death of 3 patients at the intensive care unit of the complex due to power outage and lack of oxygen, warning that 9 more are likely to die for the same reasons. Earlier last week, a Palestinian youth arrested by the occupation forces was forced to wear a medical isolation gown and blindfolded. He was asked to relay the threats of the occupation forces to evacuate the complex. When he returned, the occupation shot him three times. Eye witnesses also caught on camera the dead body of a child who attempted to leave the complex and was killed by an Israeli sniper. His corpse was left at the complex entrance while all those who attempted to collect the body were targeted.
Between 23 January and 19 February 2024, the people killed number 3851. Since 7 October 2023 till the date of filing this report, 29092 have been killed. In the West Bank, detainees number 169 in the period from 13 to 19 February 2024 after the occupation forces stormed cities and towns in the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem). The blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is also infiltrated on a daily basis by Jewish extremists under the protection of the occupation army.
The number of attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian towns and villages reached 34 in the same period. The occupation forces demolished 5 houses in Al-Quds and Jericho and confiscated lands in Ramallah and Salfit. This is in addition to shootings, erection of barriers and confiscation of properties. The total number of violations and crimes committed by Israel, the occupying authority in one week reached 2747.
